Beatles Sheffield Gaumont 1965 poster:
An original and rare concert poster advertising two performances by The Beatles at the Gaumont Cinema, Sheffield, in December 1965, during what would become the group’s final UK tour. The band delivered an 11-song set and were supported by The Moody Blues, marking a significant moment in mid-1960s British pop history as Beatlemania reached its mature touring phase.

Printed on glossy card stock, the poster measures 25.5 x 38.8 cm and presents a clean, bold mid-sixties typographic design characteristic of professionally commissioned tour advertising of the period. A card hanger has been affixed to the reverse, which could likely be removed if desired.

Of particular interest are the handwritten annotations to the upper left corner reading “W1835 Arthur Howes 50.” These notations likely reference the internal order or catalogue number for the design, together with a presumed print quantity. The poster originates from the family archive of the original printers, Electric (Modern) Printing Co. of Manchester, and the annotations strongly suggest this example served as a printer’s reference copy.

Condition: a light crease to the upper left corner and very minor edge wear; otherwise in excellent condition, with strong colour and clean surfaces.

A highly collectible and historically important survivor from The Beatles’ last British tour, enhanced by direct provenance from the original printing source.
