The Beatles rare original Memorial Hall Northwich 1963 concert poster
An original and exceptionally rare concert poster advertising an appearance by The Beatles at the Memorial Hall, Northwich, on Saturday April 27, 1963. Promoted by Lewis Buckley Entertainments Ltd., the bill also features Denny Curtis and the Renegades, The Cruisers with Karl Terry, and others. The poster notes the group as the hit recorders of “Please Please Me,” capturing the moment of their rapid ascent in early 1963. This engagement marked the band’s fourth appearance in Northwich.
Printed in bold black lettering on distinctive yellow stock, the poster measures approximately 20 x 30 inches and retains strong visual impact, with the main text remaining sharp and legible.
Condition: Tape marks to the corners, edge wear with light tears, and visible fold lines consistent with period display and storage. The central body remains intact and presents well, with no significant loss to the principal lettering.
Provenance: Acquired by the current owner at a major London pop memorabilia auction on 5 May 2004 (Lot 137). Proof of purchase is supplied.
A scarce and highly evocative survivor from the earliest phase of Beatlemania, documenting a provincial UK performance during the group’s breakthrough year.
