The Beatles Revolver RIAA Gold Sales Award:
Official RIAA Certified Gold Sales Award presented to The Beatles to commemorate sales in excess of 500,000 copies of the Capitol Records release Revolver (album, cassette and CD formats). The award features a gold-plated LP with Capitol’s rainbow label, a gold-toned compact disc, a gold-colored cassette tape, a photographic image of the Revolver album cover, and the official RIAA hologram emblem mounted within the display.

This example was acquired by the present owner through a major West Hollywood-based entertainment memorabilia auction in June 2006 (Lot #233). The reverse of the frame retains the original auction lot number stickers. Accompanying the lot are the original June 17, 2006 auction catalogue (illustrating the award on page 88) and the buyer’s invoice dated June 20, 2006 (Invoice #DS 1789), documenting the purchase at $640 inclusive of buyer’s premium and tax.

Condition: The award is offered in unrestored condition. There is visible loss to the gold plating around the LP’s run-out area. The backing paper has been opened previously to resecure the slightly shifted presentation plaque, and evidence of this intervention remains visible on the reverse. Minor surface scratches are present to the black frame and light scratches to the plexiglass. Restoration is optional at the discretion of the successful bidder.
